IT Manager/Design & Development

PREFERRED BACKGROUND:

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Planmatics Inc. seeks IT professional to oversee/manage team of 8 developers and testers. Full-time position in Rockville, MD. Duties include but not limited to:

• Coordinate major and minor software releases of Healthcare workforce management applications
• Review and approve all designs adhering to industry recognized standards of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Work with the client services and sales/marketing teams as well as client project managers to ensure adoption of newly developed software as well as coordinate the technical deployment efforts
• Steer the direction of the product as part of the product management team
• Oversee the setup of IT infrastructure at client sites for the deployment software
• Ensure 99% SLA for hosted and enterprise client applications - manage applications at Data centers
• Provide final tier support for software and technical questions/problems
• Lead analyst/tester for development of all client third party software interfaces- Collaboration with client project managers and other vendor teams for the deployment of these data exchange interfaces
• Maintain project plans to ensure no schedule/budget overruns and timely deliveries
• Technical advisory role for the business development team
• Write and review technical RFP/tenders

Required Skills/Qualifications (not limited to):

• Deep knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), with emphasis on Design and QA
• Database Administration for MySQL 5, MS SQL Server 2000 and 2005. Perform intermediary to advanced queries
• Systems Administration for Windows OS (Win Server 2000 and 2003, XP, Vista)
• Experience in software testing (manual and automated) - regression, functional, load, integration GUI and backend testing
• Experience with automated test tools - QTP, WinRunner, Test Director, LoadRunner or TestPartner and QADirector
• Hands on experience with J2SE, JSP, Java Swing, HTML, WML, WAP, XHTML, VB, and shell scripting
• Experience with HL-7 messaging and event driven interface development and deployment
• Experience with Web Services and real time interfacing
• Ability to effectively communicate information to both technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

• Healthcare IT/Implementation experience in staff scheduling and clinical applications
• Database administration for Oracle 9 and 10
• Knowledge on setting up and configuring networks from ground up - work with routers, firewalls, IDS, etc
• Experience with UK NHS ESR/EPR interface development and deployment
• Knowledge of NHS N3 connectivity and information governance procedures
